KARTIKEYA
Son of Shiva and Parvati,
and brother of Ganesha, Kartikeya is the God
of War. Shiva his father is also identified with Agni the God of Fire.
His heritage gives him the daunting responsibility of defending all the
Gods.
Katikeya has a bow and arrow slung across his back ready for war. He rides a peacock and commands the celestial armies. He is known by many names, all with the same meaning - fierce warrior, Skanda, Subramaniam and Murugun.
